Mesh & Mill was built to solve a problem we lived with as a practice: third-party lab turnaround times, opaque communication, and restorations designed by technicians who had never met the patient. Dr. Richard Dawson, DMD and the clinical team at Smile Science Dental Spa built an in-house milling workflow to control quality end-to-end. The lab that emerged from that process is Mesh & Mill.
What Makes In-House Different
When the lab is ten steps from the operatory, the feedback loop collapses. A restoration that needs a shade adjustment doesn't go back across the city — it goes back to the bench for an hour. A patient whose preparation was more aggressive than expected gets a redesigned crown before they leave the chair, not three weeks later. That proximity changes what quality means.
Who We Serve
Mesh & Mill primarily serves Smile Science Dental Spa's daily production. We also accept cases from referring dental practices in the greater Phoenix metro area that want the turnaround times and communication transparency of an in-house lab without building their own. Philosophy
We mill one restoration at a time. Not a batch of fifty that gets triaged in order of size. Every case that comes in gets a design review, gets milled on its own schedule, and gets inspected against the prescription before it leaves the lab. The name Mesh & Mill comes from the two actions at the core of what we do: meshing digital design to clinical reality, and milling material to tolerance.
